What People's Say About Place

Old-time feeling espresso bar. Husband had a craving for a cappuccino and read good reviews about this place. I can now attest that the cappuccino is excellent. Maria made them really frothy and smooth tasting. I would recommend a quick stop if you are looking for something other than Starbucks or Dunkin.

Writing this review as much for the restaurant/cafe as for sibling business next store, the commercial espresso repair business also operating under the name Cafe Italia. I found these guys looking for a specialist to rehab a commercial Nuova Simonelli single-head machine we use in our retail showroom. And I came to the right place! Incredible workshop and know-how. These guys have full lathe and CNC capabilities to make their own parts as needed. They've also got a direct lines to Italy to order parts direct and I wouldn't bring my machine to any other place for service. Good honest old world excellence -- highly recommend the repair and service aspect! But I also got to experience the restaurant/cafe when picking up my machine after it was serviced. Feels like walking through a portal directly to Southern Italy. This place had incredible coffee and more authentic atmosphere than most other cafes this side of the Atlantic. Stand at the counter and order an espresso -- worth it! Stand-up family business. They're super busy so we were lucky they were able to take our repair. They even came back for a housecall after we experienced a later issue with the machine that was totally unrelated to their work -- small bit of sediment from the city waterline clogged a valve. These guys came in like a NASCAR pit crew and tore the machine down, diagnosed and fixed the issue, and left w/out accepting a dime. Recommend their repair service 10/10. And the cafe might be an 11.

Come for the espresso, stay for the chat with the owner. Make sure you talk to the lovely Maria. She tells it like it is. No sugarcoating. Ask her to tell you about her "grandfather"

A visit to Naples without a passport! A nice nod to Italian heritage in Waterbury. So glad this place is here! May the tradition continue for many, many years!

Amazing! The espresso coffee is delectable. I usually go for the “light and sweet”, though I do enjoy a nice mug of black, from time to time. Today - I could not even THINK of diluting this little cup of espresso coffee with milk or cream; a tad of sugar helped blossom the full bodied boldness. Every sip I just HAD to close my eyes and say, “ oh, so good!” Literally—EVERY SIP. The Maria Sandwich. Italian sandwich omg!!

She was so nice and the chicken soup was excellent thank you

Wonderful little cafe! Had a delicious cappuccino and the woman who serviced me was so kind. Would definitely recommend popping in :)
